Vaporization of Compounds and Alloys at High Temperatures. Part 25. Mass Spectrometric Study of the Vaporization of the Tin Oxides the Dissociation Energy of SnO

Abstract

The evaporation of tin oxide SnO2 and mixtures of tin and tin oxide was studied. The vaporization reactions are SnO2: 1/n(SnO)n + 1/2 O2, (n= 1,2) ; and Sn + SnO2: 1/n(SnO)n, (n= 1,2,3,4). The dissociation energy of SnO and the polymerization energies for (SnO)2, (SnO)3 and (SnO)4 are given. A reinterpretation of the total vapor pressures given in the literature was made.
