EXCITATION OF A10 BANDS IN THE SUNLIT ATMOSPHERE AND THE DETERMINATION OF THE TEMPERATURE FROM THE DISTRIBUTION AMONG THE VIBRATIONAL LEVELS.

Abstract

A study of the emission from a luminous cloud produced by a TNT explosion suggests that the temperature in the 200-220 km region of the twilight atmosphere is about 1250K or rather less. (Author)
