NUCLEAR RESONANCE STUDIES OF ANTIFERROMAGNETIC LICUCL3.2H2O,

Abstract

The Li(7) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance in LiCuCl3.2H2O shows this compound to be antiferromagnetic with a Neel temperature of 4.46 = 0.02K. The local fields at the Li and proton sites combined with the quadrupole splitting of the Li resonance and the dipole-dipole splitting of the proton resonance indicate that the magnetic symmetry group of this crystal must be one of three possible types.
