A PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES TO INCREASE THE RELIABILITY FOR DIFFUSED SILICON CONTROLLED SWITCHES TYPES 2N689.

Abstract

The final engineering report of a Production Engineering Measure (PEM) for the improvement of production techniques to increase the reliability of a silicon controlled switch, of the 2N689 type, under the USAECOM Contract Number DA-36-039-AMC-03619(E) of 22 June 1963, covers the work performed on improving the switch sub-assembly, the device package, the determination of consequences upon the electrical behavior of dislocation-impurity interaction in all-diffused silicon, and the results and summary of the stress tests on the improved device. Process operation instructions are included for the improvements. Program conclusions based upon the work performed are also provided, indicating, especially, the realization of the reliability objective. (Author)
