MAXIMIZATION OF SYSTEM RELIABILITY USING A DIGITAL COMPUTER AND OSCILLOSCOPE SEARCH TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to devise a systematic method of searching for the optimal Lagrange multiplier through the use of a digital computer in a direct tie with an on-line oscilloscope. The method is a considerable aid in converging on the optimal Lagrange multiplier in a minimum number of iterations. The use of an on-line oscilloscope with the digital computer offers a relatively new method of search; it is felt that the general developments in this paper may also have wide application in other non-linear, search-related problems.
