THE OXYGENATED FATTY ACIDS FROM THE OIL OF THE SPORES OF LYCOPODIUM SPECIES,

Abstract

The oil from the spores of commercial Lycopodium, mainly L. complanatum, contains cis-9,10-epoxyoctadecanoic acid (2%), (+)-8-hydroxyhexadecanoic acid (7%), and (=)threo-9,10-dihydroxyoctadecanoic acid (4%). Smaller amounts of 8-oxohexadecanoic acid and an epoxyhexadecanoic acid also seem to be present. (Author)
