GASEOUS LASER RESEARCH.

Abstract

Emphasis was placed on: (a) spontaneous emission studies of level population dependences on gas pressure, discharge current and tube diameter; (b) laser power output studies as function of the same parameters as in (a); (c) measurements of metastable densities via absorption studies; and (d) investigations of parameter change effects in the computer model of a discharge excited laser system. Results are presented and conclusions are drawn concerning the excitation mechanisms responsible for the laser action in pure xenon discharge excited laser systems. (Author)
