ELECTRON CAPTURE BY HELIUM IONS IN NEUTRAL HELIUM,

Abstract

The cross section for electron capture by helium ions in helium is derived using an expansion based on atomic orbitals. Full account is taken of momentum transfer and of the non-orthogonality of the initial and final state wave functions. Computations have been performed for the range of energies from 100 ev to 1 MeV.
