BROWNIAN MOTION IN SYSTEMS OF FINITE SIZE,

Abstract

The solution of the Langevin equation for a Brownian particle in an arbitrary field of force in a finite system (i.e. in the presence of walls) is related to the solution of the Langevin equation for an infinite system. Analytic expressions for correlation functions of the momentum in the absence of an external field are obtained. The importance of the order of the V approaching infinity and t limiting processes is discussed. (Author)
