THE TRANSFORMATION OF ALLIANCE SYSTEMS,

Abstract

The hypothesis of this paper is that first the increased destructiveness of world war and the very small likelihood of its occurrence and, second, the establishment and expansion of a Communist state system have transformed the nature of international relations.
