INVESTIGATION OF GAS IONIZATION PHENOMENON AT OPTICAL AND IR FREQUENCIES

Abstract

The status of the work on ruby laser induced gas ionization is reported. Experimental measurements of the focused spot diameter, breakdown emission, ionization times and nonattenuation ionization are presented. The theoretical study results obtained to date in the areas of nonlinear ionization initiation and the extension of the microwave breakdown theory are discussed.
