A SERIES OF LENSES DESIGNED ON LARGE COMPUTERS,

Abstract

Four lenses were designed to meet the following specifications: focal length 24.00 inches, f-number 6.0, full field format 9 inches square, color correction 4800A to 6500A. These designs provide information on what one may expect for performance from lenses of this type. The lenses were designed using a powerful automatic correcting program. Even though these lenses were designed for a specific task the data can be used to predict performance for a range of other problems.
