REMOTE CONTROL AIR GROUND FACILITY MONITORING.

Abstract

The requirements of a fully effective RCAG monitor are discussed and a description of a Systems Research and Development Service developed monitor meeting these requirements is described. Also described is a simple line monitor which is being provided by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. A cost benefit analysis shows that over 75% of the total RCAG outages is attributable to the line and that monitoring only the lines will result in a savings of approximately $61,000 annually in travel expenses. The analysis also shows that no savings can be effected by monitoring equipment at the RCAG and that to provide an effective RCAG monitor for operational purposes would be economically prohibitive.
