AN EXPANSION METHOD FOR CALCULATING ATOMIC PROPERTIES. V. TRANSITION PROBABILITIES OF M-SHELL ELECTRONS,

Abstract

The expansion method is extended to M-shell electrons and explicit calculations are carried out of the probabilities of all dipole transitions between configurations 1s32s23e - 1s22s23e and between configurations 1s22s23e1 3 e2 - 1s22s23e1 3e2, taking into account the mixing of degenerate configurations. Results are presented for all members of the sodium and magnesium isoelectronic sequences. (Author)
