DETERMINATION OF THE SHAPE OF A FREE BALLOON: CYLINDER, CYLINDER-END, TAPER-TANGENT, AND TANGENT-HARNESS BALLOONS

Abstract

Modifications of the basic balloon-shape equations are developed for cylinder and cylinder-end balloons, tapertangent balloons, and tangent-harness balloons. Examples of the shape of these balloons are presented, and corresponding meridional stresses are determined. Zero and non-zero circumferential stresses are considered.
