GEODETIC PHOTOGRAMMETRIC RESEARCH AND TECHNIQUE DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

Scientific studies and field exercises lead to an Aircraft operational Stroboscopic Beacon modified to function above 25,000 feet as the Photogrammetric Triangulation System's focal point; an improved azimuth determination technique for resolving Hiran long-line distances to accuracies greater than two seconds of arc; the theory and method of calibrating ballistic camera lenses; the 1000 MM Photogrammetric Camera; a standard, self-contained, mobile photogrammetric triangulation system incorporating power and communications units; a photosensor for detection of light flashes generated by strobe or pyrotechnic devices. Research is also accomplished in the possible use and application of the above devices to aid in attaining the immediate goal of an intercontinental datum tie equal in accuracy to the internal accuracy of datums themselves.
