SYNTHESIS OF LOW TEMPERATURE OIL RESISTANT URETHANE ELASTOMERS.

Abstract

Pagination No. PR1665-0, containing a 14,000 molecular weight polyether triol, polytetramethylene ether glycol (2860 M.W.), trimethylol propane, dichlorobenzidine (DCB) and tolylene diisocyanate (TDI), was selected as a standard formulation. Variations were made in cure, catalyst, and excess TDI. Samples were also made substituting PLURACOL TP-340 for trimethylol propane, 2,6, dichloro-p-phenylene diamine and 2,3 dichloro-anthraquinone for DCB, bitolylene diisocyanate for TDI, and a polytrimethylene oxide glycol (1450 M.W.) for the polytetramethylene oxide glycol.
