PERTURBED FABRY-PEROT RESONATORS,

Abstract

A theory of the discrete resonances of a Fabry-Perot interferometer is generalized to include configurations that depart somewhat from the ideal geometry. The theory centers on an asymptotically valid differential equation plus impedance boundary conditions for the transverse resonance behavior. For strip mirrors the complex resonant frequencies are evaluated to second order as functionals of the mirror shapes. The result is applied to the specific cases of slightly curved and tilted mirrors. (Author)
