AN INVESTIGATION OF BE AND W ALTERED BY HIGH-PRESSURE DEFORMATION.

Abstract

Fluid-to-fluid extrusion of hot-pressed beryllium was continued. Reductions up to 40% were made. Tensile tests under pressure of hot-pressed beryllium were performed. A Rebinder Effect appears to be present for Be. Working the Be enhances its strength considerably. Bending tests under pressure were made on W sheet. In general, increasing pressure increases permissible bend angle. (Author)
