SEMANTIC BASIS OF COMMUNICATION.

Abstract

A semantic recognition procedure is defined in which interlingually coded text is machine searched with an inventory of semantic targets. From the result of this search a final message structure for a text is constructed by means of a system of rules for 'semantic wellformedness'. A theory of intonational forms, and phonetic recognition procedures relevant to it, are described. What it would be to verify Guberina's hypothesis about the relation of phonetic and semantic structures in text is suggested. (Author)
