OPTIMAL RANDOMIZED REPLACEMENT UNDER MARKOVIAN DETERIORATION.

Abstract

The nature of the optimal replacement rules for a system subject to Markovian deterioration and failure is studied. It is shown that under a generalized aging property a randomized control limit rule maximizes the expected cycle length of the system subject to an upper bound on the probability of failure.
