THE RESOLUTION FUNCTION OF A TWO-ROTOR NEUTRON VELOCITY SELECTOR,

Abstract

Some general considerations of neutron pulses are given and these are applied to yield the idea of an effective chopping point for a two-rotor system. The shape of a pulse from a system of parallel slot rotors is then calculated and the effects of slot multiplicity and rotor jitter are computed. These results are used to compute the resolution function of a two-rotor velocity selector. (Author)
