SOME RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE THEORY OF VISCOUS FLUID FLOW WITH TECHNOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL APPLICATIONS,

Abstract

Three general mathematical techniques, which have recently been introduced by the authors for systematic solution of the Navier-Stokes equations of incompressible viscous fluid flow, are briefly reviewed. In particular, the applications of these methods to various fundamental flow problems of theoretical and technological interest are highlighted and analyzed with respect to the major physical features of realistic small-scale and largescale fluid motions. A complete bibliography of all original papers published or in publication, which contain all detailed derivations and results, is given at the end of this report. (Author)
