MOLECULAR BANDPASS AMPLIFIERS.

Abstract

The original objective of this research was to produce a bandpass amplifier by combining a tunnel diode with an inductive diode. It was discovered that the stability problems connected with this type of amplifier are more serious than originally estimated. New approaches with current stable negative resistance devices give better results, but none of these solutions are practical. More device research is necessary to produce reliable components. This report starts with an empirical design theory for single junction inductive diodes, then gives a general picture of the negative resistance amplifier. Stability and temperature problems are treated in detail. Experimental results with different type of bandpass amplifiers are discussed in the last section. (Author)
