THE PERFECTLY COUPLED AND SHUNTAUGMENTED T TWO-PORT

Abstract

A new two-port structure, referred to as a 'Perfectly Coupled and Shunt-Augmented T', is defined and its properties are described. The classical Brune two-port can be recognized as a particular example of this general class of two-ports. There are three feasible types (A, B, and C) of perfectly coupled and shuntaugmented T's. A tandem of two matched T's of type AC or BC is equivalent to a lattice two-port. Suitable impedances can be transposed from one port to the other over the T whereby only the magnitudes of its elements are changed. The dual of this T is the 'Perfectly Coupled and Series-Augmented Pi'. The discussion of these new kinds of two-ports is supplemented by ten numerical examples.
