DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNIQUES FOR THE AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF EXPERIMENTS IN A PSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY

Abstract

The report details the development of methods for using a digital computer (the Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-1) to control apparatus and experimental procedures in psychological experiments. It describes the design of equipment for a multi-subject display system and a psychoacoustic laboratory system. An experiment illustrating the use of the system is included.
