RELIABILITY OF GUIDED MISSILES. A LECTURE.

Abstract

Reliability problems of guided missiles are presented in a form suitable for lecturing to uninitiated audiences. Basic mathematics of reliability are discussed and it is explained how complex missiles may be made reliable by sound principles of design, manufacture, and maintenance. The lecture stresses the need for statistical thinking and points out that by conducting comprehensive reliability programs, vast economic and military returns may be achieved. (Author)
