ON THE ESSENTIAL SPECTRUM OF THE HYDROGEN ENERGY OPERATOR,

Abstract

The essential spectrum of the hydrogen energy operator, i.e. of -delta-1/r is determined by showing that 1/r is delta-compact. It is noted that this situation is typical for a wider class of problems. (Author)
