COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL CHANGE,
Abstract
This paper presents a discussion of the social, political, economic and psychological problems associated with the rapid growth and development of cybernetics and computer technology. Rather than reacting emotionally to real or imagined problems, a calm and intelligent approach on the part of public officials and responsible groups is required to increase public understanding of the computer as a powerful tool, to select appropriate applications of computer technology and to secure the maximum benefits for society in the future.
