SHIPBOARD SITING OF DIRECTION FINDERS FOR THE 3 TO 30 MC RANGE.

Abstract

The report summarizes the practical requirements for siting radio direction finders operating in the 3 to 30 mc range and is intended primarily for the use of personnel responsible for site selection and DF antenna installation on Naval ships. The effects of reradiation from the ship's superstructure on direction finder performance are described. By the use of specific examples of shipboard installations, the merits of various siting compromises are discussed. (Author)
