INSTABILITIES IN TRANSISTORIZED DOPPLER AMPLIFIERS,

Abstract

Two types of instabilities in a transistorized Doppler amplifier are described. Depending on the particular design of the amplifier, one instability is caused by a ripple voltage of the power supply and the other is caused by the presence of a magnetic rf field of a particular frequency and field strength. The mechanism responsible for the oscillations in the second case is explained and demonstrated. (Author)
