TESTIMONY BEFORE THE COMMISSION ON MANPOWER, AUTOMATION AND TECHNOLOGY,

Abstract

The remarks concern the inability to answer the question as to the effect of automation on the size of the work force. The reason for the inability is ascribed to the lack of a controlled experiment in such matters, and a plea is made for devoting much more effort to trying to understand the economic system.
