SURFACE FIELD COMPONENTS FOR A PREFECTLY CONDUCTING SPHERE

Abstract

For a plane wave incident on a perfectly conducting sphere of radius a, the surface field components are expressible in terms of series of the Mie type. These have been evaluated on an IBM 7090 computer and results are presented for theta = 0(5)180 deg, where theta denotes the angular position on the surface, and ka =0.1(0.1)5.0(0.2)10.0, where k is the propagation constant.
