RADIOMETRIC BACKGROUND MEASUREMENTS OF 8 TO 14 MICRON RADIANCE,

Abstract

Radiometric background measurements in the 8 to 14 micron spectral region are discussed and illustrated in graph form for ten types of ground samples measured at the Naval Ordnance Test Station. Measurements are presented in terms of effective radiance plotted as a function of time of day. The effective radiance of the sky one degree above the horizon and above an elevation angle of about 30 degrees is also given. (Author)
