DRAG COEFFICIENTS OF SMALL, IRREGULAR PARTICLES,

Abstract

This report presents the results of several laboratory tests conducted with spherical and irregularly shaped particles. These measurements were made to clarify the law of fall of irregular particles in the range of Reynolds numbers from 0.035 to 3.5. The results of the experiments are presented in tabular form, and are compared graphically with the theoretical approximation to the rate of fall of spheres and with the accepted curve for spheres.
