REACTIONS OF METAL ACETYLACETONATES,

Abstract

Certain metal acetylacetonates undergo reactions characteristic of aromatic systems. Outstanding among these are electrophilic substitutions and the formation of a stable diazonium fluoroborate. Unsymmetrically substituted chelates were prepared by stepwise substitution of trifunctional complexes. Chemical and physical properties of such mixed-ring complexes provide evidence for intramolecular interannular electronic effects transmitted through the metal ion. (Author)
