LIFE TESTS ON CAPACITORS FOR PULSED PLASMA ENGINE APPLICATIONS.

Abstract

A description is given of tests conducted with some off the shelf energy storage capacitors for the purpose of investigating life, failure modes and weight to power ratios. Up to 6.4 x 10 to the 7th power shots were obtained with a given unit. Suggestions for the improvement of capacitor reliability and weight to power ratio are presented. (Author)
