RESEARCH ON AIRGLOW.

Abstract

Observations of the night airglow were made at Sacramento Peak, New Mexico, at San Juan, Argentina, and at Tonantzintla, Mexico. The data of the night airglow, received from these stations as well as from Huancayo, Peru, were reduced and tabulated. Calibration techniques for the photometer are described. Special studies of airglow phenomena and special observations of the airglow emissions at twilight with the birefringent filter type photometer and with the night sky spectrograph are discussed. Work on the instrumentation is described. (Author)
