A COMPARISON OF FREE-MOVING AND PRESSURE LEVERS IN A POSITIONAL CONTROL SYSTEM.

Abstract

Ten subjects were used in comparative tests of pressure and free-moving control levers in a task of pursuit tracking, using a positional control system with zero lag. Pressure control was superior to that free-moving lever at the p<0.01 level of confidence. Data are provided on the subjects' delays in responding to a step change of uniform velocity. (Author)
