Abstract

A review is given of important advances in the following aspects of erythrocyte biochemistry: erythrocyte enzymes, in vivo aging, infant erythrocytes, glutathione, erythrocyte lipids, nucleotide metabolism, phosphate exchange, sodium and potassium transport, sugar transport, amino acid transport, erythrocyte preservation, glucose metabolism, hemolysis, erythrocyte components.
