A MULTI-CHANNEL TREE STRAIN RECORDING SYSTEM.

Abstract

This article describes a strain recording system developed specifically for tree response studies, but which has general application to laboratory and field work where a number of resistance strain gauge records are required. It is battery operated and is calibrated in such a way that it is not affected by supply voltage variations. The particular unit described has a non-linearity of less than 1 per cent of maximum output and is suitable for measuring dynamic strain having frequency components up to 10c/s. (Author)
