CHARACTERISTICS FOR AN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL RADAR BEACON SYSTEM (ATCRBS) TRANSPONDER INFLIGHT MONITOR (TIM).

Abstract

The document describes the operation and use of an ATC Transponder In-Flight Monitor and defines its characteristics. Deviation from these characteristics may result in a device that is either useless to the owner or harmful to the Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS). A recommendation is made that those characteristics deemed potentially harmful to the ATCRBS, be limited to the specified levels by means of an FAA Selection Order. (Author)
