FACTORS AFFECTING RESOLUTION OF ELECTROSTATIC RECORDED AND TONER DEVELOPED IMAGES.

Abstract

The report covers studies of the many factors which affect the resolution of an image formed by applying a plastic toner to an electrostatic image formed on a transparent film. Recommended improvements resulting from the studies have been incorporated in an experimental recorder. Measurement of the best resolution achieved was 230 line pairs per inch. The best optical density achieved on the transparent dielectric film was approximately 2 and 10 to 11 gray scale steps were discernible. (Author)
