MOSQUITOES OF TAIWAN: GENUS TOXORHYNCHITES THEOBALD.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present as fully as possible the descriptions of all stages of the two species of Toxorhynchites in Taiwan, and some aspects of their bionomics. The nomenclature used for larval and pupal setae is that used for Toxorhynchites by Belkin (1962). The drawings were based entirely on the material collected from Taiwan and were prepared by the use of a microprojector, the delicate parts being entered after microprojector, the delicate parts being entered after microscopic examination. The specimens used for descriptions were only those reared individually from immature stages.
