A PROJECT FOR AUTOMATIC SENTENCE ANALYSIS,
Abstract
The newly organized language research section of IDAMI in Milan is conducting an experimental investigation on automatic English sentence analysis. This investigation has 2 purposes: (1) to elaborate and improve the automatic correlation procedure of von Glasersfeld and Burns, and implement it in a computer program by means of a 'Multistore' system; and (2) to use syntactic correlation procedure to isolate semantic factors for the analysis or interpretation of the meaning of English sentences, and employ these semantic factors in the correlation procedure in order to reduce the output of semantically unacceptable sentence analysis.
