SOLID HELIUM AND ITS MELTING CURVE,

Abstract

An account is given of the properties of solid helium (both stable isotopes), and the extent to which they can be accounted for on the basis of simple theories is disucssed. The main emphasis is on the thermodynamic properties. This is followed by a brief discussion of the melting curves of the two isotopes with particular reference to their behavior at low temperatures where their different spin properties become of crucial importance.
