A COMPUTER METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE MINIMAL POLYNOMIAL OF A MATRIX.

Abstract

The method provides a systematic means of determining the minimal polynomial of an n x n matrix A where the elements of A are taken from a finite or infinite field. A flow chart is given of the method suitable for computer programming.
