STRESS ANALYSIS OF A DAMAGED TRUSS BRIDGE.

Abstract

A method is presented for determining the loads and deflections in a damaged truss bridge. Any combination of completely or partially severed components can be treated. The analysis is based upon pinned joints, linear force-deflection relations, and simple tensile or compressive loading for all structural members. Application of the method to a bridge containing 116 members is described, and certain results are included. (Author)
