IONIZATION ENERGY DEPOSITON FROM 14-MEV NEUTRON BOMBARDMENT OF SILICON AND GERMANIUM,

Abstract

Bombardment of silicon and germanium with 14-MeV neutrons creates energetic recoil atoms and light charged particles which lose some or all of their energy in ionizing collisions. An estimate of the amount of energy deposited in ionizing processes and the rate of formation of electron-hole pairs is calculated from recent experimental data. (Author)
