DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF A FULL-SCALE, LIMITED-MOTION PEDIPULATOR.

Abstract

This report describes the design and fabrication of a full-scale, limited-motion pedipulator. This experimental equipment was needed to determine whether man and machine could be integrated so that man's sense of balance and natural corrective action would regulate balance of the man-machine system. A limited amount of operational experience with the machine shows that man can indeed balance the machine, the control response and other characteristics are adequate, and further psychophysical testing on the machine is desirable.
